Book Summary:

The Cochin State Manual was prepared according to the generally accepted plan of the district gazetteer of British India. The history of Cochin is portrayed with reference to original literary sources, inscriptional evidences and archaeological data. The text contains fifteen chapters that discuss various dimensions of Cochin society including forest administration, means of communication and salt, abkari and miscellaneous revenue among other relevant historical and cultural items.  This edition also has a short biographical note on the author.
