Exploring the Dutch and Malabar in the 17th and 18th Century Indian Ocean

Cosmos Malabaricus Winter School organized by Kerala Council For Historical Research is a rigorous, immersive residential program designed to explore the Dutch history of Kerala. This four-day academic initiative offers participants a unique opportunity to engage deeply with both Dutch and indigenous historical sources. Through hands-on experience and expert guidance, attendees will embark on an epistemological journey to reconstruct and better understand the Dutch presence and influence in Kerala's past. The program emphasizes practical skills like map reading and critical analysis, enabling participants to gain fresh insights into the intricate connections between Dutch colonialism and Kerala's historical narrative.
