Photo Exhibition at IAWS conference on Sep 7-10, 2023 | Women’s College, Thiruvananthapuram

A photo exhibition on women’s movements in India was organised by KCHR as part of the 17th annual conference of the Indian Association for Women’s Studies. The exhibition, titled ‘Women in Movements, Women’s Movements: Vignettes’, was aimed at presenting an indicative set of episodes of women’s participation in movements both large and small that have unfolded in the country. The exhibition included photographic works by Sheba Chhacchi and Ishan Tankha, archival photographs from the early 20th century (for ex, the Salt March) onwards till the present time (for ex, Shaheen Bagh), as well as excerpts from personal collections of participants in movements.
